Everything is everything
Thesis collection hosted by HOLDING Contemporary in Portland, Oregon
Everything in this body of work is handcrafted. I needed to make each artifact necessary to accomplish these paintings. My hair was trimmed for paint brush tips, welding the soft curls to found sticks. Fibrous material from my life became paper pulp. Vegetables and herbs, remnants of cooking, became natural dye for the substrate. The rocks beneath my feet became pigment for paint. Letterpress printed time sheets logged my hours in the studio.
Everything we encounter is our practice.
